Ochsner was proud to be the Official Medical Provider of the New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee in 2025. As part of its community outreach, Ochsner and partner organizations, including the New Orleans Saints, hosted interactive learning opportunities for students across Greater New Orleans.
Ochsner Health partners with Southern University to offer health services via the Jag Mobile, named after the Southern mascot, the Jaguars. The clinic on wheels provides health services to medically underserved and disadvantaged populations within a 50-mile radius of the Southern University School of Nursing.
Ochsner Lafayette General is committed to creating healthier and more inclusive environments. Its partnerships with Moncus Park and Downtown Lafayette’s Playground at Parc Sans Souci are testaments to this dedication.
In 2020, Ochsner Health teamed up with Son of a Saint to open an all-inclusive home and headquarters for the nonprofit, which creates positive support systems for fatherless boys in New Orleans. Through its network, Son of a Saint provides tutoring, mental health services and more to boys ages 10 to 18.
Fifty-nine high school students completed STEM Pathfinder, a weeklong program at Ochsner Health, in the summer of 2024 to explore healthcare careers and foster leadership development. Students participated in hands-on labs, interacted with healthcare professionals, and toured Ochsner’s hospitals in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, St. Charles, Shreveport and Monroe.
Fifty dedicated Ochsner employees and their family members joined forces for an extreme library makeover at Marrero Middle School in Marrero, Louisiana. Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to stain bookcases, restock books, assemble chairs and bean bags, and transform the library into a vibrant and welcoming space for students and teachers.
Ochsner Rush Health volunteers partnered with the Meridian, Mississippi chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build 32 high-quality bunk beds for children and families in need. The team also held a bedding donation drive, collecting hundreds of pillows, comforters and sheets.
Ochsner Community Health - Brees Family Center (Gretna), 91 Westbank Expressway, is now open. With the mission of providing health equity for all, Ochsner’s community health centers offer accessible and convenient primary care for patients and their families.
Ochsner Health was the official healthcare provider of New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, offering two first aid tents and several free sunscreen dispensing stations. Ochsner also presented the Ochsner Children's Activity Tent, offering kids interactive games and educational activities staffed by our Education & Community Outreach team.
In partnership with the Lauderdale County School District and Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services, Ochsner Rush Health completed its first year as a Project Search host site. Project Search is a program that provides real life work experiences combined with living skills to help young people with disabilities make successful transitions into adult life.

Son of a Saint, with help from partners like Ochsner Health, empowers boys in New Orleans who have lost their fathers by providing tutoring, mental health services, mentoring and more. In 2020, Ochsner partnered with Son of a Saint to open an all-inclusive home and headquarters for the organization, The Ochsner Health Son of a Saint Bivian Lee, Jr. Center.
Ochsner Health collaborates with Where Y'Art, an art consulting company in New Orleans, to invest in art and artists throughout Louisiana and the Gulf South. Since 2016, Ochsner has purchased more than 3,000 pieces of art and contributed more than $3.2 million to over 100 local artists.
Ochsner Health relies on Community Health Needs Assessments to guide the organization’s mission-driven work to inspire healthier lives and stronger communities. Community priorities become part of Ochsner’s overall strategy through the practice of listening to the voices of our community, developing Community Health Improvement Plans informed by data, and ultimately seeking approval from our board of directors.
